I think a lot of people prefer non-hypens.
For me, I really don't mind. If it makes domains easier to read, good.

Same here, for personal use I've never gone to the wrong place because of a hyphen.  That being said, hyphens do lessen the value of a domain name.

Although e-mail.com and email.com both technically work the same.. The marketing value is definitely more in email.com than e-mail.com because people who are looking for email would most likely type in email.com first over e-mail.com Probably 100 times more often is my guess. You can brand a site to go just about anywhere... case in point Google... Who would THINK to type in Google??!? Not me... But a billion dollars in advertising and there they are... a household name. I dont have that kind of a marketing budget so a good well thought out domain that people think to type in is much better.

the hyphens are great for SEO purposes only when they separate actual words like one of my domains: http://www.cheapest-generic-cialis.com

otherwise what domainshub is saying is absolutely right!
