Does it really work ? i have heard many say its useless because try to auction the domain before give it to the person who back order.

ive heard that as well. although ive personally never backoreder as i see it as a waste of money because htere never is a 100% chance u will get it

Well i believe the same but i wonder all registrars who do backorder do the same thing like godaddy.

i think its just another way to quietly squeeze more money out of us. i think the conversion rate of the backorders' is very poor meaning very little people who back order a domain actually get it
