I admit it... I'm a Linux noob!    Tongue

So, not wishing to remain a noob.... what version of Linux would you recommend to me as a first step to learning?

I'm thinking I will partition my harddrive and put Linux on one part.    Ya think that's the way to go??

Thanks!

I recommend you Kubuntu for Desktop, Debian stable for servers. Kubuntu is based on Debian and it seems is already "steal" the market from Mandriva and RH. I liked a lot. Also you can try Gentoo, Mandriva, Fedora ... Smiley

Try Backtrack V2 Live Cd and when you get used to it, just do an install.
Based On Slax and Auditor, its loaded with security tools but is really powerfull and not to hard to learn how to use.
