I have more than 30 linux servers in my administration (full loaded with Java / tomcat / emails / antivirus / antispam / hundreads of processes / firewalls / php etc etc ) without reboot for hundreads of days ... and when I rebooted it was for a kernel change ... I have Linux server working for more than 600 days ... and I'm not a genius ... just a f*cking admin ...
And look at Microsoft Propaganda :
http://www.microsoft.com/canada/getthefacts/default.mspx
With the Linux based platforms, we would have a system crash at least once a week. Migrating to Windows 2003 Server has virtually eliminated server crashes and vendor support.
So ... If I get a 2003 Server from Microsoft I would eliminate System crashes ... So if my server will crash once at 2 years ... from now it will crash once at 3 years or ? or it will virtually eliminated server crashes ... WHAT THE HELL that means ? Virtually eliminated ?
Ok ... my server is working for 600 days ... so Virtually I need to think it will crash in the next days ? Why ? Because MS it say so ...
I don't want to be to rude but this propaganda it means Linux is too closer to Microsoft ass.
