I'm setting up a new blog, and I'll be running AdSense there.  Obviously I'd like to maximize CTR.  Where should I place AdSense ad units on the blog?  Where are hotspots?  Also should ad units be integrated into the site in such a way that much of the whole site uses only one color or ad units should be integrated into the site in such a way the the site uses two or three colors?  The following is an example.

http://www.ukhotel.com/northern-ireland/belfast-airport.html

The site uses two colors, green and white, while ad units use white background color.

I think in the midle of you blog message and get a big ad format 336x280  for example. I think this is working in blogs.

The blog is set up, but I haven't set up AdSense ad unit or link unit yet, so no result to report so far.  Also it only has one page indexed at this point, so I'll wait for a week or possibly longer.  Once Google or Yahoo indexes several pages, I'll set up ad unit and link unit.

Best thing to do here, would be get the site up and running and then register for a service like www.crazyegg.com , it shows where your users are clicking and can make a huge difference when it comes to placing your adverts and other important content

First you need to get traffic, for position is best left and right or header and footer.Ads need to be in opposite position, that is key

Have you tried this before?  How difficult is it to install this?  Also does this affect page load speed?

I took a look at your blog ClickCashDaily and I think the side banner ads are in a good spot. They are right up at the top and viewable when you load the page. As far as the bottom banner ads, I think they are too far down the page and most people will click your "older post" button before ever making it to the bottom. You might be able to slip one banner ad in between your posts. I don't use blogger, so I don't know if you can do this. You may have to do it manually. I would put a banner ad between every two posts so it doesn't get too distracting. If you put any more than one banner ad then people might think they are at the bottom of your page and not scroll past it.
