Hi,

I just installed a google analytics plugin for my wordpress site. I got a page to put the code in, I got the code from the google analytics and now the status reads: tracking unknown.

This is a fairly new site, i wander if I have zero visit that would cause this. Any advise

You will not get visits so easily until your site content is so good, if you want visitors more you have to check your page again and put title, keyword and description for that page which word press provides in the dashboard, You have to select the keywords that your site content should match it and the keywords should have search volume as well, You have to select keywords very intelligently by checking search volume and competition of the keywords. After this you have get some quality links for your site which will help you to get ranked on search engine which can bring visits to your site.

There are a few different ways of doing this:
1-Directly to the theme files.  This lets you place it exactly where you want it (usually at the very end of the footer for performance reasons) but is easy to overlook when you change themes later on.
2- Via a custom option in some premium themes.  This is usually optimized for placement but again can easily be overlooked if you change themes.
3- Using a plugin.  Although some people don’t like adding plugins to do simple things for most people I recommend this option.
