@TheGodFather

2. Its already enabled? Mod_Rewrite is also activated and it works..

The Problem is that the Links are:
"forum/index.php?topic=141.0"
and not:
"forum/allgemeine_diskussionen/bitte_helft_uns-t141.0.html"

When i click at the link.. it redirects to /forum/allgemeine..." and there is no error, thats OK..

But i want, that the links are linked to: "forum/allgemein.." and not to "index.php?topic=141.0"..

Can it be that the installation-script don't changed the links to the friendly-url-function? where can i repair it manualy? in which .php is the link-code?

Again ... can be :

1. php_cgi problem
2. You don't enabled Apache friendly urls from Features and optiosn

Your all links need to be like this http://www.acid-schranz.net/forum/allgemeine_diskussionen/bitte_helft_uns-t141.0.html

search this forum if you have problem 1. (I think the post is named I have a Big Problem)

Regards

Nope, that's not the problem.Apache friendly urls from Features and options enabled, and php_cgi is not enabled on my server. (took the time to triple check) Now what?Huh??

my problem too. I've lost 8000 pages in the serps (down from 11,700 pages to only 3,300) Sad and I'm losing more visitors everyday. Word has now got around that you can only reach the first page link for each forum and that the other links do not work. I disabled seo4smf but my traffic went from a steady 1000+ search engine visitors per day to 160 to the front page only, because the googled urls are all redirected urls now and come up file not found. This has been devastating.

This is a major issue, and one that it took me and my mods weeks to realize. I'm positive there are many others like us, but they have not realized the links are not working.  This is not an isolated issue and we need to find a solution to the problem.

I believe this is a great mod, and works like a charm, but this issue needs to be addressed. And when the solution is found, I suggest that it be stickied and the title be relevant so others can find the solution quickly.

ps- I also think it would help a lot if when a problem is solved, that the topic title be changed to where it is more relevant and SOLVED added to the title. This would greatly cut down on redundant searches and questions.

THESE ARE NOT THE PROBLEMS, BTW.
PHP_CGI NOT TURNED ON, ON MY SERVER
APACHE FRIENDLY URLS ARE ENABLED.

The problem is the links are not being redirected to the right place.
click page 3 and it brings you to page 1
click page 14 and it brings you to page 1

also:

front page is echoed into the article and/or block editor. (this I can live with, loosing 3/4 of my site 'cause links don't work, I can't. Thanks,
K

Dont write in allcaps please!
Anyway, this IS the main Problem - PHP_CGI is the Problem....
put "cgi.fix_pathinfo=1" into your php.ini or ask your hoster about it...
Also you can try to put it into the .htaccess file....

YEEAAH.. i found the error!!  Shocked
in the .htaccess

Quote
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^topic=([0-9]*).([0-9]*)
RewriteRule  ^(.*)$ seo4smf-redirect.php?t=%1 [R=301,L]

change this to:

Quote
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^topic=([0-9]*).([0-9]*)
RewriteRule  ^(.*)$ seo4smf-redirect.php?t=%1.%2 [R=301,L]

There is the missing point and %2 to change the pages..  Wink
