 We discover some incompatibility with apache 1.3 and tar.gz package.
 Just get the zip version of seo4smf.

Rewitebase enabled but send message only errors  Cry

What is the solution?

What do you have as your rewritebase?
Should be RewriteBase /forum for you.

This error is because of rewritebase !
You need to have
RewriteBase /forum

1. Please check again if your .htaccess it have this value.
2. Restart your apache server (you can do that ?)
