I don't think, we can expect any further versions here... How does this "requesting a mod" in the simplemachines forum work?

One year no development for this great mod.
That's too bad, but there is another nice 'url friendly' mod for SMF called PrettyUrls:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=636

The author even made a mod to make it easy to convert from SEO4SMF to PrettyUrls by rewriting the old urls:
http://prettyurls.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/seo4smf/

It appears that this mod has been taken down off SMF MODS website. I tried looking it up today to give the details to members on Digital Point message forum, but it's not there.

I just realized today that SMF has 1.1.5 out, wow. I don't look up for updates in the admin panel as much as I should.

I had switch servers a few months back and had so many problems with php5.  I hire a coder for $5 off SMF forums and he had it fixed in no time.

I second the notion that somebody should expand this mod.

Whoever is capable of taking over this mod please do it now with an absolutely clear conscience.

This mod is fantastic but when you are the creator of something that others rely on it is your moral obligation to make sure you allow that service to continue and therefore it is completely appropriate for someone else to continue working on this mod if the creator cannot.

I'm trying to get it to work with SMF 2.0 beta 3.1 right now & it's not looking hopeful at all, they seem to have changed the way the queryless URL's feature works substantially. It really does need some major attention now from someone, I'll be continuing to try but I'm not really up to it tbh.

It would be a real shame for this mod to die off, Godfather let us know how you are if you're out there.. if not.. I really hope someone can run with it.

This mod will die if it is not picked up urgently because PrettyURLS mod is very good now and also has a conversation script to go from this mod to theirs. I plan to switch in the near future but would possibly change my mind if this mod was taken over.

I doubt you will see him again to be honest. The domain expires next year and I that will be the end of the site unless its sold.

Obviously it still gets traffic although not much. As for the smf mod itself. Thus far I took a look at the mod and made some simple fixes but it needs more work and upgrading to work with SMF 2.0
