From people's past experience is yahoo answers a good way to gain traffic?

    Also what is the best way to use it to gain traffic?

In reply to a couple of questions of Yahoo Answers just won't cut it. You need to consistently answer questions in your niche on a daily basis. This will keep creating traffic to your website over time and eventually snowball effect.

Yes it's good for network traffic but you need to do a good job of answering questions in your area of interest. It's also important that you make it as part of your daily routine. You need to maintain the reputation and work on improving it on a daily basis.
